3. 6th Power Plan Check-In

It is has been six months since the Council finalized their 6th Power Plan and in that time staff has been working to implement several of the action items.  Council staff will join the Board to share their work and the progress being made. 

4. Assessment of System Planning Efforts

Detailed power planning work is continuing through the System Planning Committee on issues such as capacity planning, energy efficiency accounting and wind integration challenges.  The Board will discuss the work being accomplished and offer suggestions for future efforts.

5. Communication Committee Update

Communicating power industry issues remains high on the PNUCC 2010 Member Agenda. The Communication Committee is considering new initiatives as part of the Plan Today. Power Tomorrow. educational campaign and will bring their ideas to the Board for further input.

6. Columbia River Treaty 2014/2024 Review

The September 2014 milestone for the Columbia River Treaty where the parties, United States and Canada, can provide a notice of intent to terminate the Treaty in 2024 or later is approaching.  Thus, parties are working together to evaluate the implication of continuing or terminating the Treaty.  Greg Delwiche, BPA will share with the Board what they have concluded from the first phase review and share his thoughts on the possible impacts to the Northwest.

7. Prep for Talks with British Columbia Interests

In preparation for the conversation with British Columbia entities in October, staff will provide the Board with some facts and insights regarding the electric power industry in British Columbia.  This will be an opportunity for Board members to also share their knowledge on this topic.
