Job Description

PNUCC is seeking a Member Engagement & Operations Manager to serve as a key member of our small, collaborative team. The Manager will work closely with the Executive Director and Analytics & Policy Director to support PNUCC’s members, products and day-to-day operations.

The ideal candidate is an organized, strategic generalist who is equally comfortable working with utility executives, coordinating Board meetings, managing a project’s timeline, improving an organizational process or figuring out how to make something work better.

This person will have considerable responsibility and autonomy. They will be expected to see what needs to be done, take initiative and follow work through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate preparation for Board, committee and other PNUCC meetings, including agendas and presenters.
  • Proactively engage with members to understand their priorities, interests and emerging concerns.
  • Identify opportunities to convene members around issues of shared interest and support follow-through on resulting opportunities, commitments and requests.
  • Maintain useful records of member interactions and follow-up.

Program & Strategic Support

  • Work with the Executive Director and Analytics & Policy Director to advance priorities, projects and initiatives.
  • Coordinate projects and initiatives, maintaining timelines, action items, data collection and documentation.
  • Assist with presentations, reports and other PNUCC products, helping translate complex issues into clear, useful information for members.
  • Support the data analysis and development of the annual Northwest Regional Forecast—the regional utility perspective on the changing power system.
  • Identify, track and assess power industry issues and trends that significantly impact the future of the Northwest electric utilities and PNUCC membership.
  • Monitor the work of the Northwest Power and Conservation Council and write monthly Council meeting report for PNUCC members.
  • Help maintain consistent messaging across PNUCC content and communications.

Business & Organizational Operations

  • Support the Executive Director with day-to-day organizational operations and administration, including maintaining organizational calendars, deadlines and recurring activities.
  • Coordinate Board meeting administration, including scheduling, materials, records and follow-up.
  • Coordinate the logistics and execution of PNUCC meetings and events, including venue coordination, meeting materials, room setup and on-site support.
  • Maintain organizational records, institutional knowledge, membership databases and distribution lists, ensuring information is accurate, organized and accessible.
  • Manage contracts, invoices, travel and routine financial administration, including tracking assessments and other organizational payments.
  • Maintain digital information resources, including PNUCC’s website and SharePoint, ensuring content is current.
  • Support PNUCC’s external communications through LinkedIn and other digital channels, including developing and posting timely content.
  • Identify and implement improvements to PNUCC processes and internal systems.

The successful candidate will likely bring many of the following:

  • 5–10 years of professional experience, with some years of experience in an association, member-based organization, utility or similar environment.
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with members, colleagues and senior leaders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining follow-through.
